Seattle Sounders FC News Release

SEATTLE, WASH. - Sounders FC welcomes German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt to Seattle on Saturday, July 8 in the second of the Rave Green's two international friendlies this season, having previously played Liga MX side Club Necaxa to a 1-1 draw in March. Kickoff for Saturday's match is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. PT and is to be broadcast locally on JOEtv, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM and El Rey 1360 AM, with availability on ROOT SPORTS for those in the Northwest outside of Seattle.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early and celebrate an entire afternoon of soccer, not only supporting Seattle as it faces Frankfurt, but then staying after the friendly to join the club's 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup watch party in the North Plaza of CenturyLink Field as the United States Men's National Team takes on Panama in the first of the Stars and Stripes' Group Stage matches.

Both Seattle forward Jordan Morris and midfielder Cristian Roldan have been called-up by USMNT Head Coach Bruce Arena for Gold Cup duty, and Sounders FC fans who attend the friendly have the opportunity to watch the National Team action in a crowd of Rave Green.

A 16-foot LED videoboard wall in the North Plaza is carrying the match starting at 1:30 p.m. PT and a host of family-friendly activities are also set to be available, such as face painters, concession stands, food trucks, corn hole, interactive inflatables for children and a USA flag giveaway. Fans should note that the watch party is only open to those ticketed for the friendly.

In addition to the post-match watch party, the friendly itself is set to feature a special halftime element with Sounders FC starting goalkeeper Stefan Frei. Frei, born in Switzerland, recently completed his U.S. citizenship and the team encourages fans to come out and help recognize this achievement.

Following a 3-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids in Commerce City on Tuesday evening, Sounders FC returns to Seattle for its friendly against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, July 8, before stepping back into MLS play on Wednesday, July 19 as the club hosts D.C. United (7:30 p.m. PT / Q13 FOX, KIRO Radio 97.3, El Rey 1360 AM).
