The Sounders 2006 schedule was announced today. The 2006 season will feature a single table of 12 teams in the United Soccer Leagues (USL) First Division. The Sounders will battle each team, home and away, and then fill in remaining matches with long-time rivals - the Portland Timbers, Vancouver Whitecaps and Minnesota Thunder. SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS
Home opener - May 13th, Qwest Field vs. the Minnesota Thunder
Visits from east coast powers- Montreal Impact and the Rochester Raging Rhinos.
A regular season home finale against the Atlanta Silverbacks on September 9th
USL First Division newcomer, Miami FC, visits Seattle on July 1st. (Seattle visits Miami on June 18th)
