Soul Set to Participate in AFL Expansion Draft

The Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League will participate in the AFL Expansion Draft tomorrow, October 8 at 1:00 p.m. The draft will be held live via www.aflmedia.com for media members and on www.arenafootball.com for fans.
The Soul have selections in the third and sixth rounds of the draft after trading their first round pick to the Colorado Crush for OL/DL Dwayne Missouri and their second, fourth and fifth selection to the Grand Rapids Rampage for OL/DL Corey Mayfield.
"As an expansion team in the Arena Football League we are certainly going to explore every avenue possible to find the best players for our team," head coach Michael Trigg said. "The expansion draft will allow us to find quality players with Arena football experience and will certainly help us build our team."
Mayfield will enter his sixth year in the Arena Football League and has played for Coach Trigg throughout his entire AFL career. Last season Mayfield was named Rampage Lineman of the Year and led all Rampage linemen in tackles (13.5) and tackles for a loss (5.5). For his career, Mayfield has accumulated 67 tackles including 16 for a loss, 17 sacks, three interceptions, 11 pass break-ups and 38 quarterback hurries.
Missouri is in his second year in the AFL after playing one season with the Crush. Missouri was originally drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2001 in the seventh-round of the NFL draft. After alternating between the Ravens practice squad and active roster he was acquired by the Dallas Cowboys where he finished the 2001 season and 2002 season on the active roster. Last season Missouri had ten tackles, one sack and three pass break ups.
