The much hyped game marks the farthest spot in the season in AFL history that two undefeated teams have played one another.

WIDE RECEIVERS CONTINUE TO EXCEL

The Soul's three wide receivers all played excellent games and contributed to the Soul's success. Chris Jackson recorded 7 receptions for 83 yards and touchdown and is now only 1 touchdown shy of becoming the 3rd player in AFL history to reach 300 touchdown receptions. Larry Brackins also garnered 7 receptions for 77 yards and 3 touchdowns. Darius Watts recorded 4 receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown.

DEFENSE STOPS DALLAS TO GET LESS THAN HALF OF SOUL'S POINTS

Not to be outshone by offense, the Soul defense played a consistently solid game against the Desperados to ensure a win. The Soul were able to record 4 interceptions against Desperados QB Clint Dolezel, tying the franchise record for most interceptions in a game.

E-MO-TION

DB Eddie Moten, the Defensive Player of the Game, had 3 interceptions, tying his own franchise record for a single player's interceptions in a game (against Dallas on 5/6/06) and recorded a season high 9.5 sacks.

brown DAY-TO-DAY

DB Mike Brown, who was named Ironman of the Game for the eighth time this season, is a force not to be reckoned with. Brown caught an interception and ran 26 yards on Desperados QB Dolezel's first throw of the game and returned a blocked Dallas PAT for two points with only 4 minutes remaining in the second quarter. However, he had to leave the game with a back strain. He is day-to-day.

MANCE FRACTURES ANKLE

Soul starting DB Brian Mance was forced to leave Monday's game when he landed awkwardly on his ankle in the third quarter. He left for x-rays, which confirmed a fractured left ankle. He will be out for the season.

LIGHTING DOES STRIKE TWICE

OL Phil Bogle caught a 3-yard touchdown pass from D'Orazio with only 53 seconds left in the 2nd quarter to score the second touchdown of his career. The 322 pounder scored his first touchdown last week against the Columbus Destroyers.

Soul 57, Dallas 28

QB Matt D'Orazio (On Soul defense)

"You have to take your hats off for the defense. Defense came out and shut out a great offense. Just played tremendous football. We have a great offensive line and if they continue to be the best in the league we can make out so it's a total a team effort."

"Unbelievable, defense came out and just played lights out. They prepared all week really well. .Tthey have some great schemes for Dallas' offense and then they really played with some passion. We fed off their offense, so hats off to them."

(How it feels to win at home)

"We took advantage of the home field, the crowd and the Spectrum. We were excited about a win; we are probably as excited as we are about any win, and now we have to get ready for Cleveland."

(Mindset for Cleveland)

"We'll look at the film tomorrow and hopefully we'll learn from it. You know we have a great coaching staff and great leaders on this team and who hopefully won't let a let down happen. We'll just follow the guys that lead us."

(On Jackson)

"He is the best receiver in the league, he draws a lot of attention so, we are going to expect a lot zone against him unless they think that their guy can cover him, man to man. But Chris is a team player he just wants to win, first and foremost and that's why he came here. He never complains or says a word; he runs his routes hard every time.

Eddie Moten:

(On tonight's game)

"Coach put a great game plan together today and we just go out and try to execute what Coach wants us to go by."

(Where does the Soul go from here) "10 and 0, next week."

(On next week's game)

"That's my hometown and I just want to play good against those guys. I guess I've got to get extra pumped, extra motivated, bottom line I just want to come down with a win."

(On defense)

"I kind of wanted to come out and keep it with offense. Offense has been playing great first half of the season."
