Chicago Rush News Release
April 28, 2008 - Chicago Rush defensive back James Sadler underwent successful surgery Friday afternoon to repair a ruptured right Achilles tendon, the team announced today.
Sadler, who suffered the injury in Chicago's April 20 win over Grand Rapids, was placed on the team's Injured Reserve list and is out for the season.
The surgery was performed by doctors Chris Giannoulias and Kevin Tu at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
"The surgery went extremely well and James is expected to make a complete recovery," said Rush physician Raj Khanna, M.D. "His rehab will take approximately eight to nine months, which means he should be healthy and ready to play in time for the start of the 2009 season."
In his second year with the Rush, Sadler played in each of the team's first eight games this season, recording 14 tackles.
