Soul place Tony Graziani on injured reserve

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Soul announced today they have placed starting quarterback Tony Graziani on the injured reserve after suffering a torn hamstring (right) last Sunday against the Chicago Rush. In preparation for tonight's game against the Nashville Kats, the Soul have signed quarterback Connell Maynor. They have also activated OL/DL Cecil Caldwell from the injured reserved.

Per Arena Football League rules, Graziani must be out of action for a minimum of two weeks.

Maynor (6'0", 180, North Carolina A&T) has won four ArenaBowl championships in his 11-year AFL career. He has served as a starting quarterback, backup quarterback, starting wide receiver/linebacker and kick return specialist. Maynor is also the only player in the League history who has boasted more than 5,000 passing yards, 500 receiving yards, 400 rushing yards and 400 yards in kickoff returns in his career.

Maynor has spent six seasons with the Orlando Predators (1998-2000, 2002-2004), three with the Tampa Bay Storm (1994-1996), one with each the New York CityHawks (1997), New Jersey Gladiators (2001) and the Carolina Cobras (2002). In 2004-05, he was a backup quarterback for the Predators behind Joey Hamilton and completed 53-of-85 for 650 yards with 10 touchdowns despite four interceptions.

In his career, Maynor has completed 714-of-1225 passes for 9,214 yards with 156 touchdowns.

The Soul face the Nashville Kats tonight, Friday, April 14. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on Comcast SportsNet (Tape Delayed).
