Soul Linebacker Wins AFL Highlight of the Week; Kizer Up for MVP

PHILADELPHIA - The AFL's Week 4 MVP, Soul LB Joe Goosby, won another weekly award as he earned the AFL's Week 16 Highlight of the Week for his interception return for a touchdown in the Soul's win against the Chicago Rush. Additionally, Soul DB Rayshaun Kizer is being nominated for MVP for his performance in the victory.

Goosby (6'1, 235, Tulane) made his fourth interception on the season in the fourth quarter, when he returned it 48 yards for a touchdown. He now has two interceptions returned for a touchdown, the first one being against Arizona in Week 11. Along with the interception return, Goosby finished the night with 2.5 tackles.

Kizer (5'10, 190, Walsh) is being nominated for MVP after winning last week's Riddell Defensive Player of the Night and J. Lewis Small Playmaker of the Night. Kizer finished the matchup recording seven tackles, one tackle-for-loss, two interceptions and four breakups.

The MVP voting will be available to fans on the AFL website beginning at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10 until Thursday, July 11 at ArenaFootball.com.

The Soul (10-5) return to action this week when they host the Utah Blaze (5-10) at 7:35 p.m. on Friday, July 12 at the Wells Fargo Center.
