Soul Can Clinch Playoff Spot This Week

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Soul clinch a 2008 playoff berth this weekend, as the Mitsubishi Motors Drive to ArenaBowl XXII New Orleans kicks into high gear for Week 11.
If the Soul (9-1) beat the Georgia Force (4-5) on Monday, May 12 and the Tampa Bay Storm lose to the New Orleans VooDoo on Friday, May 9, Philadelphia will secure its third straight playoff appearance. Philadelphia's game can be seen live on ESPN2 and ESPN2HD as part of Russell Athletic ESPN Arena Football Monday and heard live on 950 ESPN starting at 8 p.m. (et).
Philadelphia is coming off its first loss of the season, having lost to the Cleveland Gladiators last Friday, 67-55. The setback dropped the Soul from the ranks of the unbeaten and ended the club's longest winning streak in franchise history.
Monday's game in Atlanta marks the end of a stretch that will see the Soul play four of five on the road, but begins a run of three games in 11 days. The final two games of that 11-day run are at home - Saturday, May 17 versus Columbus at 7 p.m. and Thursday, May 22 against Kansas City at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling 888-PHIL-AFL.
One other AFL team can clinch a playoff spot this weekend. Chicago can clinch a playoff berth while on its bye week if one of five American Conference teams lose (Kansas City Brigade, Colorado Crush, Grand Rapids Rampage, Arizona Rattlers, Los Angeles Avengers).
