April 2, 2015 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Philadelphia Soul News Release
PHILADELPHIA (April 2, 2015) - The Arena Football League's Philadelphia Soul welcome K Tommy Frevert (6'0, 200, NW Missouri State) to the 2015 roster. Frevert will be taking place of K Carlos Martinez, who suffered an injury in the season opener against the Orlando Predators on March 29.
"Frevert came to an open tryout last year and we really liked what we saw," says Soul Head Coach Clint Dolezel. "He has a really strong leg and we are excited to see how well he will do for us."
Prior to joining the Soul, Frevert played for the KC Renegades in the CPIFL during the 2013 season. That year he completed 31-of-35 PATs, 5-of-16 field goals, making his average 6.6 points per game. He then spent time with the CPIFL's Oklahoma Defenders in 2014. He was awarded Second Team All-CPIFL in 2014 and lost in the championship game in 2013. The Soul rookie played 59 games at Northwest Missouri State and finished his career with 263 PAT and 41 field goals.
The Soul will look to bring home a win as they travel to Spokane to face the Shock on Saturday, April 4 in Spokane, Washington. The game will begin at 10 p.m. EST.
