Chicago Soul FC News Release
CHICAGO -- The Chicago Soul announced on Friday that midfielder Pablo Daniel da Silva, known simply as Pablo, has been signed to the club's 2012-2013 player roster. The Florianopolis, Brazil native joins the squad after spending three seasons with the Milwaukee Wave, during which he earned two championships.
"Pablo is going to be of great value and help to us, especially in the areas where we are struggling the most right now," said Soul Head Coach Novi Marojevic. "He's got great ball possession and is a very skillful player. I'm really happy to have him on the team, and I look forward to what he will bring to this organization."
The 32-year-old midfielder has earned titles with Palos Altos of the Futsal Latino's League in 2012 and 2010. Pablo also won an MISL championship with the Baltimore Blast in 2009. Additionally, he has played on the World United Futsal Team in 2009, and earned MVP honors in the 2009 Futsal National Cup in Portugal. In 2008, Pablo played for the Brazilian national team in an arena soccer tournament in Monterrey, Mexico, and in 2007, he participated in the UEFA Champions League as a member of the F.C. Godollo in Hungary.
Pablo is set to take the field for the first time as a member of the Soul on Friday, January 4 against the Syracuse Silver Knights at the Sears Centre Arena. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT. For ticket information, visit www.chicagosoulfc.com or call (224) 699-4110.
