Solid pitching performances and timely hitting greatly contributed to the New Jersey Jackals 2-1 victory over the New York Brave. Jackals right hander Olivera Rijo tossed five solid innings, followed by Hayden Shenefield who was electric out of the Jackals' bullpen. Dylan Brammer once again secured the final three outs of the ballgame and notched his first save of the season.

Additionally, on the offensive side, Chris Carpio and Marcos Guzman combined for four hits on the night. While Kent Blackstone and Juan Pena drove in the two runs for the Jackals.

For New York, Brandt Broussard led the team offensively with two hits, and Skylar Mercado drove in the lone run for the Brave. John Saviano and Lucas Burton were dominant out of the bullpen as they struck out a combined six batters.

The Jackals will face the New York Brave for game two of this three game series on Saturday July 25th with a 7:05pm first pitch.
