Sol Blanks FC Gold Pride 2-0 in Preseason Game

CARSON, CALIFORNIA - Tuesday, March 17, 2009 - The Los Angeles Sol (Women's Professional Soccer) defeated FC Gold Pride (Bay Area) 2-0 for the second time in four days in a pre-season game at The Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University - Dominguez Hills.
The first goal of the match came in the 54th minute when Brittany Bock, the Sol's number-one draft pick in the WPS Draft, took a short pass from Japanese import Aya Miyama and hit a low-lining shot into the left corner of the box from 15 feet away.
Bock struck again, five minutes later, in the 59th minute for the game's final goal.
The starting lineups were as follows:
Los Angeles: Karina LeBlanc, Allison Falk, Stephanie Cox, Camile Abily, Shannon Boxx, Manya Makoski, Aya Miyama, McCall Zerboni, Brittany Bock, Katie Larkin, Christie Welsh.
Bay Area: Rachel Buehler, Carrie Dew, Eriko Arakawa, Tiffeny Milbrett, Tiffany Weimer, Brandi Chastain, Kristen Gracyzk, Nicole Barnhart, Leslie Osborne, Leigh Ann Robinson, Kimberly Yokers.
The Los Angeles Sol features Brazilian soccer sensation Marta and a star-studded roster that includes three U.S. National Team members, among them is Torrance native Shannon Boxx.
