San Diego, CA - After a successful Mini Camp, the Scorpions have selected their roster for 2004.
"We are feeling optimistic" Said Head Coach, Nate Benjamin. "We recruited athletic rookies, had a good amount of our key veterans from 2003 return, and had key starters from surrounding areas come to us seeking a spot". Added Benjamin.
"We have a great roster, but we also have a heavy work load ahead of us". Said Offensive Coordinator, Mark Ring.
"The competition is very high in the WPFL" Stated Co-Owner Christina Suggett. "You will not see any 90-0 blowouts on our field, just solid women's full contact action" Added Co-Owner Ann Bagala
"San Diego is about to witness what women's professional football is all about". Added Bagala.
The Scorpions will open their second consecutive season with the Women's Professional Football League. This will be the league's sixth consecutive season, making them the longest operating women's professional sports league in the nation.
