Oklahoma City Comets News Release

Albuquerque, N.M. - Brad Snyder celebrated his birthday with two home runs and Landon Powell added a three-run homer as the Oklahoma City RedHawks (28-20) defeated the Albuquerque Isotopes (27-22) 10-4 Friday night before 5,379 at Isotopes Park.

Snyder started the scoring with a solo homer in the second inning, marking his third straight game with a home run. Albuquerque's Jeff Baisley answered in the bottom of the inning with a solo shot of his own to tie the score.

The RedHawks scored twice more in the third, but Trent Oeltjen hit a solo homer in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 3-2.

The RedHawks opened things up with a five-run fifth inning. Fernando Martinez hit an RBI double to make it 4-2. With two outs, Angel Sanchez collected an RBI single, and Powell capped the rally with a three-run homer.

Leading 8-4 in the ninth inning, Snyder went deep for the second time-a two-run homer that put the RedHawks up by six.

In his second straight start, Mickey Storey (2-2) tossed five effective innings, allowing three runs and five hits. He struck out five and walked one.

Sergio Perez and Xavier Cedeno combined to allow one run and three hits over the final four innings to prevent Albuquerque from getting back in the ballgame.

Albuquerque starting pitcher Stephen Fife was knocked out with two outs in the fifth inning for his shortest outing since he faced the RedHawks in Oklahoma City on April 22. He was charged with seven runs and eight hits. Fife (3-4) tied a season high with seven strikeouts and walked two.

The RedHawks won for the sixth time in nine games on their current 12-game road trip and beat the Isotopes for just the third time in nine tries as well. They'll play again in Albuquerque Saturday night at 8:05 p.m. central. Live coverage begins at 7:35 p.m. on 1340 AM The Game, 1340thegame.com, and through the free IHeartRadio app on your mobile device.
