Snohomish County Explosion Near Sell-out for Home Opener
March 30, 2009 - International Basketball League (IBL)
Snohomish County Explosion News Release
With slightly less than 200 single game tickets remaining for the 2009 season opening game April 18th in Monroe the Explosion organization is excited about tipping off for the third season.
"I do not think the opponent is reason for the large crowd otherwise our game against the IBL defending champion SLAM would attract more fans", commented owner Nathan Mumm, "I think the fact that pro basketball in Seattle has been gone for about a year along with our online option to purchase single game tickets are both key factors. We understand that basketball fans have college basketball options but nothing at the next level."
The Explosion basketball team starts its third year in Snohomish County and is the only option to see post-college stars like Jeffery Day (UW) or Donald Watts (UW) now retired, along with NBA legends like Shawn Kemp. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as lines are expected to be longer than normal given this rare event. The first 200 fans will receive a team poster as they enter.
