Monroe, WA. - March 19, 2009 - The Explosion have two NBA talented centers on the squad for the 2009 Season. Jeffery Day, 6-11 former University of Washington center (6-11, 216) One of the top shot blockers in the Pac-10 2001-02 -- Played all but one game in 2001 and is ranked second on the team and ninth among Pac-10 players with 30 blocked shots (1.07 bpg) ... His 30 blocks were the second-highest single-season total ever for a Husky freshman, trailing only Todd Macculloch's 32 blocks in 1996 ... Rejected a single-game high four shots against Gonzaga (Dec. 11 2001)
Bradley Kanis (Southern Utah) 7-2 center who (is considered to play much like Portland Trailblazer Center Joel Przybilla) just left the NBA Houston Rockets practice squad after playing with the NBA team in the 2008 NBA Summer League. He will join the Explosion this weekend and will look to add power to the center position along the side of University of Washington center Jeffrey Day.
