COLUMBUS, OH - The Columbus Clippers cruised to a 6-3 victory Sunday over the Toledo Mud Hens, sending their in-state rivals home with just one win in the six-game series at Huntington Park. The red-hot Clippers jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first two innings and never looked back.
Cooper Ingle continued his domination of Triple-A pitching, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and RBI to raise his batting average to .327.
Angel Genao collected three hits including the only extra-base knock on the afternoon for Columbus. He also drove in a run.
Alfonsin Rosario had two hits with a RBI and a run scored.
Right-handed hurler Rorik Maltrud (4-1) allowed just one run over 6.1 innings of work.
After winning five out the past six games, Columbus now has an overall record of 57-50, while Toledo leaves town with a mark of 51-56.
