Durham Bulls News Release
Durham, NC - Logan Davidson homered for the second straight game to lead the Durham Bulls past the Gwinnett Stripers 8-3 at the DBAP on Sunday night.
Davidson, who hit a game-ending homer on Saturday night, took out Stripers starter Garrett Baumann (L, 1-3) with two aboard in the first inning to cap a six-run frame.
Oliver Dunn connected in the third to boost Durham's lead to 8-0.
The Stripers got on the board with one run in the fourth before Luke Williams connected for a two-run homer off Boyle in the fifth.
Joe Boyle worked the first 4 2/3 innings, allowing three runs but fell one out short of qualifying for the win. Steven Wilson (W, 1-0) worked a perfect sixth inning to notch the victory.
The game was delayed for 34 minutes by rain before the top of the seventh started before resuming.
The Bulls batted around in the opening inning. Nick Madrigal singled to start the frame, then Tre Morgan was hit by a pitch. Austin Slater rolled an infield single against the third base line to load the bases before a groundout by Carson Williams scored Madrigal for the game's first run. Tatem Levins stroked a two-run single before Oliver Dunn walked.
Davidson cranked a 1-0 pitch from Baumann over the left-centerfield wall for his 10th homer of the season.
The Bulls (22-10) won the series with Gwinnett (17-16) 4-games to 3 and will head to Charlotte to start a six-game set on Tuesday night at 7:04 PM ET.
