Smokies Complete Sweep of Lookouts, 7-1

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Smokies (49-41, 12-9) secured a series-sweep over the Chattanooga Lookouts (38-52, 4-17) Sunday afternoon at AT&T Field, as they won 7-1 in the final matchup of the three-game series.

The Smokies and Lookouts entered the sixth inning of Sunday's contest tied at 1-1 before Alexander Canario's 16th home run of the season gave the Smokies a lead they would never relinquish. The Smokies piled on four runs in the eighth inning with RBI hits from Jake Slaughter, Bradlee Beesley and Harrison Wenson. The Smokies would add one more run in the ninth and cruise to a six-run victory for the second consecutive game.

Smokies RHP Walker Powell (W 2-2) got the win with four scoreless innings, only allowing two hits while striking out four. RHP Riley Thompson pitched three scoreless innings and struck out five in his first start back from the Development List.
