
Smokies 2005 Schedule Released

Sevierville, Tenn. - The Southern League of Professional Baseball has released its 2005 schedule, including the Smokies' 140 game slate.
The Smokies, in their first year as an affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, will open the season April 7 at Mobile and spend the first week of the season on the road.
The home opener is Friday, April 15 against Mobile and will kick off a 7-game homestand. The Smokies will be home for seventy games, including 21 Friday and Saturday nights and a Fourth of July home game against West Tenn.
In the Southern League's redesigned North - South Division format, the Smokies will be joined in the North by Carolina, Chattanooga, Huntsville, and West Tenn. Tennessee will meet former division foes Jacksonville and Mississippi (formerly Greenville) only six times each.
Tennessee will make four trips to Montgomery and three to Birmingham, both in the South, with only two trips apiece to North Division foes Chattanooga and West Tenn.
