Louisville Fire News Release
FIRE OFFENSE SCORCHES #1: The Fire offense was only stopped by the clock Saturday night. The Fire scored every time they touched the ball Saturday on their way to a 79-69 victory over the number one ranked Spokane Shock. Fire QB Brett Dietz totaled a season high 10 touchdowns (eight passing, two rushing) on his way to putting up his second perfect QB Rating of the season, 158.3. Lance Taylor once again put on an impressive iron man performance catching 10 passes for 106 yards and three touchdowns. Taylor returned three kicks for 92 yards and tallied four tackles and two pass breakups on defense.
NEXT UP: The Fire will begin a two game road swing before their last bye week of the season. The Fire will travel to Albany, NY for a crucial divisional match-up with the Conquest. The Fire defeated Albany 51-38 on May 20. A victory over the Conquest would give the Fire a 2-0 record against the Conquest this season and the tie breaker for the season.
EAST DIVISION TIGHTENS UP: With the Fire's victory on Saturday they moved into a tie for second place with Green Bay and Albany. The Fire currently holds the tie-breakers over both teams with their victories over Green Bay and Albany. The Fire is also in fourth in the American Conference in the playoff race.
