FIRE DROPS CLOSE ONE: The Fire lost to Wilkes-Barre Saturday night 51-48. The Fire had a chance to take the lead or tie the game with less than 10 seconds left on their own three yard line, but quarterback Brett Dietz was hit and fumbled the ball and Wilkes-Barre recovered to secure the win. Fire offensive specialist Rob Mager continued to put up huge number catching seven balls for 142 yards and three touchdowns.

MAGERS NUMBERS KEEP GOING UP: Seymour, IN native Rob Mager has put up big numbers all season long. Mager has surpassed the 100 yard receiving mark in six games this season; twice he went for over 200 yards. Mager was the first af2 receiver to hit the 1,000 yards mark this season. He currently leads the league in several categories (listed below). If Mager continues this pace he will set Fire records in just about every receiving category this season.

FIRE STAYS HOME: The Fire will play their last home game for the month of June this Saturday against the Spokane Shock (8-1). The expansion Shock is currently ranked first in the af2 coaches' poll and lead the West Division. Kick-off will be at 7:00 P.M. Saturday.

AFL TO CROWN CHAMPION THIS WEEKEND: The AFL will play their 20th championship game this weekend in Las Vegas with the Orlando Predators taking on the Chicago Rush. The Rush has won three straight road games in the playoffs to make ArenaBowl XX. The Fire and the city of Louisville have ties to the Predators. Predators' offensive specialist Jimmy Fryzel is the brother of Fire WR/LB Dennis Fryzel. Predators head coach Jay Gruden is a former University of Louisville quarterback. ArenaBowl XX can be seen on WAVE-3 Sunday at 3:00 P.M.
