FIRE STAYS UNDEFEATED: The Fire hung on for a 48-46 victory over Birmingham Saturday night in Freedom Hall. James Scott turned in his best performance of the season with eight receptions for 123 yards and two touchdowns, Scott also found the end zone on the ground with a four yard rushing touchdown. Matthew Sauk threw for five more touchdown passes and just one interception putting his touchdown to interception ratio at 19:2. Defensively Demetrius Forney tallied three and half tackles, half a tackle for a loss, one and half sacks, a safety and three quarterback hurries. Marvin Constant also totaled a team high of six tackles and one and a half for a loss. At 4-0 the Fire tied their best start ever, going 4-0 in 2004. The Fire is also just one of two undefeated teams left in af2 joining the Florida Firecats (5-0).

BACK ON THE ROAD: The Fire will play their first of back-to-back road games on Friday night in Manchester, NH. The Wolves are currently tied for second in the East Division following Friday's 56-32 victory over the Macon Knights. Last season the Wolves defeated the Fire 49-28 on June 25 in Manchester. The Wolves are currently riding a three game winning streak. Kick-off is schedule for 7:30 and the game can be heard on 1080-AM WKJK with Paul Wilman.

SHUTOUT: This season the Fire defense has come up big in important situations. The defense opened Saturday's win with a first quarter shut out of Birmingham. So far in 2005 the defense has shutout teams in three different quarters, Birmingham in the first quarter, South Georgia in the third quarter and Rio Grande Valley in the fourth quarter (Wilkes-Barre was the only opponent to score in every quarter).

PROTECTION: The Fire continued their winning ways by not giving the ball away. The Fire had just one turnover against Birmingham, putting them at four for the season. The Fire has turned their opponents over nine times so far to make them plus five in turnover margin. Manchester is also solid with a plus seven in turnover margin.

FAN SUPPORT: After two home games this season the Fire is currently first in attendance averaging 8,115 per game in Freedom Hall. The crowd of 9,151 that saw the Fire beat Birmingham was a league high so far this season.

10:30 P.M. – Team departs Freedom Hall for Manchester
