FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The saying goes "you can never have too much of a good thing".
The SwampDogs are digging into the phrase with another batting champion, nabbing future Southeast Missouri RedHawk Tristen Gagen.
Gagen set the school record at Northeastern Oklahoma with a .477 batting average in 2015 and followed it up with a .464 average this spring. Gagen led the Golden Norsemen with ten home runs and 53 RBIs.
"Gagen is an exciting player," said SwampDog's Manager Anthony Williams. "He can hit for power and average and he shows he knows the game. He can play both sides of the diamond and give us some flexibility and versatility."
Gagen is the newest member of the SwampDogs to come from Southeast Missouri, where he will suit up in 2017 for the RedHawks.
The Fayetteville SwampDogs home opener for the 2016 season is Wednesday, June 1st.
Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 910-426-5900, or by visiting our website.
