Slow Start Drowns Storm, Sharks Win 71-61

Jacksonville, FL -- Despite a furious fourth quarter, the Tampa Bay Storm (6-6, 3-3) could not overcome a slow start and fell to the Jacksonville Sharks (6-5, 3-2) by a score of 71-61 Saturday evening in front of 11,080 fans.

Recently activated quarterback Nick Hill took charge of the Storm offense late in the first quarter after the team stumbled out of the blocks. He finished the game 25-of-32 for 321 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. His primary target was Chandler Williams who had a big game as he surpassed 300 all-purpose yards and led all receivers with 11 catches for 161 yards. South Florida standout Amarri Jackson pitched in nine receptions for 103 yards and a score while Prechae Rodriguez caught four passes for 43 yards.

Receiver Bobby Sewell set the pace on the evening for the Sharks scoring a 38-yard touchdown on the second play of the game and later adding a 43-yard touchdown. The Sharks pounded the ground with four rushing touchdowns, including two by quarterback Bernard Morris. Rendrick Taylor and Western Michigan's Jamarko Simmons also scored on the ground. Morris finished the game 17-of028 for 259 yards, six touchdowns and and interception.

The Tampa Bay Storm enters its second and final bye week of the season following tonight's game and returns to action Friday, June 15 at Orlando as the "˜War on I-4' enters the national stage on NET10 Arena Football Friday on NFL Network. Kickoff is slated for 8:00 PM EST.
