Skyhawks add three more players to spring training roster

The Sussex Skyhawks have been busy compiling their roster for the 2007 season. Three new players have been added to the roster, Michael Hartung, Brian Spottsville and Bart Braun Jr.

Infielder Brian Spottsville will be joining the Skyhawks from Costa Mesa, California. In 2006, Spottsville was the shortstop on the Newport Storm World Championship team, a part the Western Baseball Association. With the Storm, Spottsville was Team MVP with a .418 batting average.

Bart Braun Jr., who last played for the Laredo Broncos in the United League, started his career with the Tampa Bay Devils organization in 2005.

Michael Hartung, RHP, was last with the Allentown Ambassadors in the Northeast League in Hartung, a New Jersey native, made his first appearance in 1994 with the Baltimore Orioles organization. With the Ambassadors, Hartung had an ERA of 4.25 and appeared in 21 games.

Manager Brian Drahman said, "The addition of these three players will enable us to build a strong roster during mini-camp." He continued, "we certainly look to improve from last season and it starts with fierce competition during mini-camp."

The Sussex Skyhawks open at home on May 24th, against their cross-state rivals, the New Jersey Jackals. Fireworks will follow at the conclusion of the game.
