Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release

Sioux Falls, S.D. (Sept. 7, 2011) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team will hold open tryouts for the 2011-12 season on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 15-16 at Family Wellness located at 8701 W. 32nd St. in Sioux Falls, S.D. The local tryouts will be limited to the first 50 registrants.

Open tryouts offer players an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of Skyforce coaches while they compete to earn an invite to the team's training camp in November. Former Miami Hurricane guard Anthony Harris made the opening night roster last season after earning a training camp invite based on his strong performance at open tryouts. He went on to average 13.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 34 games (15 starts).

Check-in on Saturday begins at 8:30 a.m. with the first session set to begin at 9 a.m. There will be a second session on Saturday that will begin at 3 p.m. The tryouts will conclude with one session on Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. Each session of the two-day tryout camp will last approximately two hours.

Applicants must be eligible to play in the NBA D-League and are required to pre-register by submitting the official registration, release, disclosure and background check forms along with a $150 nonrefundable fee. Tryout forms are available online (skyforceonline.com) or at the Skyforce office (2131 S. Minnesota Ave.). Completed forms and entry fee must be submitted to the Skyforce office no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7 to secure a spot in the tryout camp. Tryout attendees can contact the Fairfield Inn at (605) 361-2211 to reserve a hotel room at a discounted rate.

Season tickets and 12-ticket flex packs for the 2011-12 season are on sale. For more information please contact a Skyforce representative at (605) 332-0605.
