
Skyforce Sign Scotty Hopson

Sioux Falls, SD (Dec. 7, 2014) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that they have acquired Scotty Hopson, a 6-foot-7 guard from the University of Tennessee. Hopson, who played with the Miami HEAT during the 2013 Orlando Summer League, will be active for Tuesday's road game against the Canton Charge. He will wear number 20 for the Skyforce.
Hopson went undrafted in the 2011 NBA Draft after averaging 17.0 points and 3.3 rebounds in 32 games during his junior year at Tennessee. During his career at Tennessee, Hopson posted career averages of 12.7 points and 3.2 rebounds in 103 games.
After going undrafted, Hopson spent the 2011-12 season with Kollosos Rhodes of the Greek League where he averaged 9.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in 35 games. He spent the following 2012-13 season in the Israeli League with Hapoel Eilat and averaged 17.7 points and 5.2 rebounds in 33 games. During the 2013-14 season, Hopson played for Anadolu Efes of the Turkish League. While with Anadoulu Efes, Hopson averaged 15.5 points on 48% shooting from three-point range in 11 Euroleague games before signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers in March of 2014.
Hopson made one appearance for the Cavs before being assigned to the Canton Charge for their 2014 NBA D-League playoff series against the Skyforce. In his three games with the Charge, Hopson averaged 10.3 points and 3.3 rebounds.
