Morristown, N.J. (Monday, March 18, 2013) Sky Blue FC announced on Monday the team has signed goalkeeper Brittany Cameron. Cameron is a three-year WPS (Women's Professional Soccer) veteran, reaching the league championship match in all three seasons that the league existed. She won a league title in 2010 (FC Gold Pride) and 2011 (Western New York Flash). The California native joined Sky Blue FC last spring when the team traveled to Japan.
Stated Sky Blue FC head coach Jim Gabarra, "Brittany is an experienced and veteran goalkeeper. We are confident that she will successfully fill her role with Sky Blue FC."
In other team news, with less than a month to go before the official first game, training began with a group of contracted players, joined by the college draftees and other pre-season invited and selected open try-out players. This week, the allocated U.S. and Canadian National Team players will join the squad, followed by the Mexicans and Australians, all in place by the end of March.
