Howell, N.J. - Sky Blue FC midfielder Elizabeth Eddy has agreed to a new one-year contract with a one-year option ahead of the 2020 National Women's Soccer League season. Per team and league policies, further details were not disclosed.

"I'm so stoked to re-sign with Sky Blue FC," said Eddy. "There is no place I'd rather be this 2020 season and I hope for years to come. Super thankful to the staff for believing in me and giving me this awesome opportunity with great people, a great place, and great fans. I can't wait to continue growing with this club!"

Eddy, 28, will be entering her second season with Sky Blue FC after being acquired in a June 11, 2019 trade with North Carolina Courage. Eddy played 1,200 minutes for Sky Blue FC last season and scored the club's first ever goal at Red Bull Arena during an August 18 match against Reign FC.

"Elizabeth brings a wealth of experience and energy to the team and we are really excited to have signed her for the 2020 season," said Head Coach Freya Coombe. "She brings speed and creativity to our front line and I look forward to continuing to work with her this season."

Entering her sixth season in the NWSL, Eddy has played in 62 games, scored five goals, and notched five assists. She was a member of the 2016 Western New York Flash & 2018 North Carolina Courage Championship teams.

"Elizabeth was such a pleasant surprise for us after she joined us via trade in 2019," said General Manager Alyse LaHue. "Her impeccable work ethic, desire to grow as a player, and versatility on the field are all assets we seek in a player as we look to take Sky Blue to the playoffs. We are thrilled to have her back with the squad this season."

Sky Blue FC will be kicking off its inaugural season at Red Bull Arena on Sunday, April 26 against Reign FC. Single game and group tickets, as well as the full season schedule, will be announced soon. Season Ticket Memberships are on sale now at SkyBlueFC.com.
