Sky Blue FC Allocated Three Players from U.S. Soccer and Canada Soccer

Howell, NJ - The NWSL has revealed the list of allocated players from the United States and Canada for the upcoming 2020 season. Allocated players are players who will have their salaries paid by the U.S. Soccer Federation or the Canadian Soccer Association, respectively. A total of 32 players will be participating as Federation Players in 2020: 23 from U.S. Soccer and nine from the Canadian Soccer Association.

Sky Blue FC's Carli Lloyd and Mallory Pugh are listed as allocated players from the United States and Kailen Sheridan is listed as an allocated player from Canada.

In 2019, Lloyd led the Sky Blue FC attack with eight goals and one assist in 14 games played, and finished the season in the top ten for goals scored in the league. Lloyd is ranked sixth all-time in NWSL goals (39).

Pugh was acquired by Sky Blue FC from the Washington Spirit during the 2020 NWSL College Draft in exchange for the 4th, 13th, and 17th overall selections as well as a 1st round 2021 Draft Pick. Pugh finished the 2019 NWSL season playing and starting in nine games, scoring two goals and notching two assists.

Sheridan had another outstanding season in goal with 86 saves and three shutouts in 19 games played. Tied for first in the league with saves and save percentage (78%), Sheridan was nominated for 2019 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year and made the NWSL Team of the Month for April and July.

Sky Blue FC will be kicking off its inaugural season at Red Bull Arena on Sunday, April 26 against Reign FC. Single game and group tickets, as well as the full season schedule, will be announced soon. Season Ticket Memberships are on sale now at SkyBlueFC.com.
