Sky Blue FC Preseason Week 4 Update

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (March 31, 2013) - Sky Blue FC suffered its first preseason loss on Saturday, March 29 against the University of North Carolina with a final score of 2-1. The New Jersey squad will look to rebound on Friday, April 4 when the club hosts Seton Hall University.

Sky Blue FC defender Kendall Johnson scored the loan goal for the club in the 39th minute and was assisted by midfielder Ashley Nick. Nick played a ball up the left flank to Johnson who ripped a shot into the opposite side of the net. It was her second goal of the 2014 preseason.

Goalkeeper Jill Loyden, defender Kelley O'Hara and defender Christie Rampone will not be in Sky Blue FC training camp this week due to national team commitments. The trio was selected to the U.S. Women's National Team 24-player training roster for the USA's upcoming matches against China PR.

Mexican National Team forward Monica Ocampo is scheduled to arrive to New Jersey on April 1. Ocampo led Sky Blue FC in scoring last season with 8 goals in 901 minutes and also had two assists.

Sky Blue FC will compete in its final exhibition match on Friday, April 4 when the squad hosts Seton Hall University at Georgian Court University. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. ET.
