Piscataway, N.J. - For the first time in nearly eight months, Sky Blue FC (1-0-0, 3 points) will bring the world-class action of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) back to Yurcak Field in Piscataway, hosting rival Washington Spirit (1-0-0, 3 points) in its 2016 home opener on Sunday. Kickoff for the match is set for 6:00 p.m.

"We are very excited to get the team out on Yurcak Field so we can show our home support what we are capable of doing," said Christy Holly, Sky Blue FC head coach. "We will look to carry forward the momentum that we created in Seattle, as well as build upon the foundation that we established there. We hope to see everyone come out on Sunday because it will definitely be an entertaining game."

Sunday marks the first appearance of Holly in New Jersey as Sky Blue FC head coach, one week after an historical win in Seattle. After winning back-to-back NWSL Shields, Seattle Reign FC welcomed Holly and Sky Blue FC to Memorial Stadium, a place where they had never lost since moving there in 2014. With six players in the Starting XI who had never logged a minute in the NWSL, Sky Blue FC got out to a 1-0 advantage in the 15th minute via a Kelley O'Hara to Tasha Kai tally, holding the lead until a Seattle equalizer in the 52nd minute by Merritt Mathias. The New Jersey club eventually reclaimed the edge in the 67th minute when Kelly Conheeney finished a Taylor Lytle feed, and they would never relinquish that 2-1 scoreline.

On the opposite bench of Holly on Sunday will be former Sky Blue FC head coach Jim Gabarra, who departed for Washington this past offseason after five years in New Jersey. The Spirit come through the Garden State on the heels of a 1-0 home defeat of the Boston Breakers last weekend, with Joanna Lohman scoring the lone tally in that match.

Kickoff on Sunday is set for 6:00 p.m., and tickets for that match are available now. The home venue for Sky Blue FC is Yurcak Field, which is located on the campus of Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J. All fans who eat at Quaker Steak & Lube in Edison before the game will also receive free parking for the match.

Season and individual tickets for Sky Blue FC are both on sale! Season ticket packages start as low as $130 and can be purchased online today. For any questions regarding tickets, call the Sky Blue FC tickets department at 888-SBFC-TIX (888-723-2849), and a team representative will be happy to assist you.
