
â??Dash visit Orlando for inaugural match between expansion teams

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Houston Dash are in Florida to face the Orlando Pride at 6:30 p.m. CDT today at the Orlando Citrus Bowl in Orlando. This is the first meeting between the two National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) expansion teams and the first of four matches between the two clubs this season.
The game will be broadcast live on HoustonDashSoccer.com/live. As of Friday morning, the Pride sold more than 20,000 tickets to the match and expect to break the single match NWSL attendance record (21,144) which was set last season by Portland Thorns FC.
The Dash opened the 2016 NWSL season with a 3-1 victory over the Chicago Red Stars at BBVA Compass Stadium. Rookie FW Rachel Daly scored a goal and registered an assist in the match and the NWSL Media Association awarded her the NWSL Player of the Week award for Week 1. The Pride fell to the Thorns in a contest that finished 2-1 at Providence Park on Sunday.
The Pride, led by head coach Tom Sermanni and U.S. Women's National Team players Alex Morgan and Ashlyn Harris, joined the NWSL as its 10th team last October. The Pride also have two players allocated to the roster from the Canadian Soccer Association, Josée Bélanger and Kaylyn Kyle. The Pride roster includes three players that previously played for the Dash in Becky Edwards, Toni Pressley and Kyle
The next match in the series will take place at 7:30 p.m. CDT on Friday, May 20 at BBVA Compass Stadium. After the trip to Florida, the Dash return to BBVA Compass on Friday, April 29 to host Sky Blue FC at 7:30 p.m. CDT. The first 1,000 fans over the age of 21 will receive a free beer courtesy of head coach Randy Waldrum and the Dash players.
