Tacoma, Wash. - Sky Blue FC (0-3-2, 2 points) scored an early goal from Raquel Rodriguez but fell short to Reign FC on Saturday in a 2-1 loss on the road in Tacoma.

In the beginning of the match the Reign started high and pressured Sky Blue to earn their first corner in the first minute of play. Shortly after in the 5th minute, Reign's Lauren Barnes took a short corner played to Darian Jenkins, who curled a shot towards the upper right-hand corner but Sky Blue goalkeeper Didi Haracic made a diving stop to stuff the Reign's early chance.

After the Reign's early chances on goal, Raquel Rodriguez netted her second goal of the season to put Sky Blue on top 0-1 in the 10th minute of the match. A giveaway for Reign FC in the back put the ball at the feet of Savannah McCaskill, allowing her to slip the ball off to Sarah Killion, sending a cross at the far-left post to Rodriguez, who finished it with an easy volley past Reign Goalkeeper Michelle Betos.

Reign FC equalized in the 13th minute after Theresa Nielsen sent a corner into traffic and was headed in. After review, the official scoring decision was an own goal by Julie James.

Sky Blue continued to find chances in the first half as McCaskill attempted to chip Betos in the 18th minute but the keeper was far enough off her line to make the diving save. Another big chance for Sky Blue came in the 42nd minute as McCaskill played a ball in behind the defense for Imani Dorsey, firing off a shot as Betos came off her line to make the save.

The second half started off with a big save from Haracic, stopping a low shot to near post by Darian Jenkins. With possession going back and forth in the second half and fewer chances for Sky Blue on goal, the Reign were able to capitalize to put them ahead with the winning goal. In the 78th minute, Shea Groom sent in a cross that was deflected off Paige Monaghan's foot towards Haracic who made a diving save but Jodie Taylor was in the right spot to put away the rebound and see the game out 2-1, in favor of the Reign.

Sky Blue FC are back home to face the Portland Thorns on Saturday, May 25 (6 p.m. ET) at Yurcak Field. The team will have a short break during the FIFA window and return to action on Saturday, June 15, (10 p.m. ET) to face the Utah Royals at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah.
