Sky Blue FC News Release
Tinton Falls, N.J. - Sky Blue FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) officially announced today that U.S. PARMA Soccer Club has been added as a club partner for the 2016 NWSL season.
"We are very pleased to have U.S. PARMA Soccer Club as part of the Sky Blue FC family," said Tony Novo, Sky Blue FC President & General Manager. "As a club, we have a focused initiative of bringing together the soccer community to cooperatively promote the game. U.S. PARMA is a group with whom we have an established relationship already, and we look forward to developing it even further throughout this season and beyond."
U.S. PARMA Soccer Club is a group of premier soccer teams with an objective to develop and showcase dedicated soccer players, preparing them on all aspects of the game to compete on any level of competition. U.S. PARMA is affiliated with many premier associations and leagues such as U.S. Youth Soccer, U.S. Club Soccer, Eastern Development Program and the New Jersey Youth Soccer Association.
"U.S. PARMA Soccer Club is very excited to be partnered with the Sky Blue FC," said Phil Iuliano, U.S. PARMA Club President. "The opportunity to support our home team and the ability to have professional players in our back yard serving as role models and inspirations for our youth players is important on many levels. We are looking forward to the success of our partnership and the upcoming season."
Sky Blue FC recently collaborated with U.S. PARMA to raise funds for the Kids Walk for Kids with Cancer and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of Pediatrics. The initiative was in memory of Michael Wielgus, a former U.S. PARMA player who was taken from the world far too soon. His sister, Lindsay, walked in Central Park in his memory to raise money for cancer research, and a check presentation was made to the Wielgus family prior to the kickoff of Sky Blue FC's home match on May 7th against the Boston Breakers.
