
Six Flying Tigers Selected to Florida State League All-Star Team

Lakeland, FL - The Florida State League (FSL) 2016 All-Star teams have been announced by League President Ken Carson. Starting pitchers A.J. Ladwig and Tyler Alexander, relief pitcher Adam Ravenelle and outfielder Christin Stewart will represent the Flying Tigers at the 55th annual FSL All-Star Game. The game will take place at Hammond Stadium in Ft. Myers, home of the Ft. Myers Miracle, on Saturday, June 18 at 7:05 p.m. Catcher Grayson Greiner and relief pitcher Joe Jimenez were selected but have been promoted to Double A Erie and will not participate in the game.
Christin Stewart currently leads all of Minor League Baseball with 15 home runs. Stewart leads the FSL in home runs (15), slugging percentage (.543), extra base hits (25), total bases (101) and walks (36). His 36 RBI ranks second in the league. Stewart was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the first round of the June 2015 draft while attending the University of Tennessee where he was a first-team All-SEC Conference selection as a sophomore and junior.
A.J. Ladwig is currently 7-3 with a 2.44 ERA. He has allowed only 52 hits in 59.0 innings pitched with 44 strikeouts. His 7 wins are currently tied for 1st in the league and he is currently 3rd in the FSL with a 0.97 WHIP. Ladwig was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 11th round of the June 2014 draft while attending Wichita State University where he was a first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection.
Tyler Alexander is currently 4-4 with a 2.10 ERA. He has allowed only 52 hits in 60.0 innings pitched with 51 strikeouts. He is currently 8th in the FSL in ERA and 6th in innings pitched. Alexander was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the second round of the June 2015 draft while attending Texas Christian University where he was named an honorable mention All-Big 12 as a sophomore.
Adam Ravenelle is currently 2-1 with a 3.86 ERA in 17 games as a reliever. He has allowed only 14 hits in 21.0 innings pitched with 27 strikeouts. Ravenelle was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the fourth round of the June 2014 draft while attending Vanderbilt University.
