LOWELL, MA - What's better than coming to the Sixth Annual Lowell Spinners Alumni Dinner featuring Jonathan Papelbon and Gabe Kapler? How about sitting with the guests of honor during the charity event on Friday, November 30?
Along with announcing that the 2007 World Series trophy would be on display, the Lowell Spinners, Class A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, also announced that three special seating packages to the Alumni Dinner are being auctioned off to benefit the Lustgarten Foundation at www.lowellspinners.com. The auctions will end on Thursday afternoon.
The two seating packages up for auction are: 1) One seat with Jonathan Papelbon at the head table for a child 12 and under and a second seat for a parent/guardian front row, center at the table with Gabe Kapler and his family, and 2) Four tickets to sit front row, center at Gabe Kapler's table with the 2004 World Series Champion and his family.
The chance to take on the Spinners staff in a softball game at LeLacheur Park will also be auctioned off with two tickets to the Alumni Dinner included.
The Alumni Dinner will take place at the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Lowell and will begin with an autograph session from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Tickets to the event sold out with hours of the announcement of the guests.
Joining Papelbon and Kapler will be the following Spinners alumni: Red Sox first base coach and former Spinners manager Luis Alicea (2004-2005); 2004 World Series Champion Gabe Kapler, who made rehab appearances with the Spinners in 2003 and 2005; Red Sox 2007 No. 1 Draft Pick Nick Hagadone (2007); 2003 fan-favorite Scooter Jordan; and 1999-2000 Spinner Dan Giese. There will also be a silent and live auction. The silent auction will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the program to follow.
