Sacramento Sirens News Release

The Sacramento Sirens increased their record to 6 - 0 last Saturday with a win against the IWFL's newest exhibition team, the San Diego SeaCatz by a final score of 81 - 0. The SeaCatz organization have only been together for a few months and it showed. The Sirens forced the SeaCatz into six interceptions, four punts and three fumbles in a game where it poured during the team's warmups leaving the field a mud pit. Sirens leading scorers included HB Julie Wicher with four touchdowns and QB Leilani Limary with three touchdowns. Although the SeaCatz are a new team, they learned a tremendous amount from the Sirens players and coaches and were well received by the Sirens fans.

Your Sacramento Sirens final regular home game of the season is this Saturday, May 10th against the California Quake. This will be the first game of the season for these two teams so be sure to come and enjoy the high scoring Sirens. At this game we will be honoring our men and women in uniform who regularly risk their lives to protect us as Heroes Day where anyone in military, police or fire uniform (or with a military, police or fire department ID) will receive a $5.00 discount on their ticket. Special attractions include a police helicopter and cruisers. Come on out and enjoy the final regular season home game of the season.

The Sirens have not officially made the IWFL playoffs but with the current undefeated record, it is expected. Playoff tickets will be available either on the Sirens website at www.sacramentosirens.com or at a Sirens practice beginning on June 3. Please check out our website for further information regarding playoffs, fundraisers and events and as always, thank you for your support! GO SIRENS!
