Sioux Falls' Dan Craig Earns Second Consecutive NBA Development League Coach of the Month Honor

NEW YORK, Feb. 2, 2016 - Sioux Falls Skyforce head coach Dan Craig has been named the NBA Development League Coach of the Month for games played in January. It's the second consecutive Coach of the Month honor for Craig this season.
Craig led Sioux Falls to a 9-2 record for the month, as the Skyforce moved to 22-5 on the season, tops in the NBA D-League. The 22-5 record ties for the best start through 27 games in NBA D-League history (ties the 2007-08 Idaho Stampede). Sioux Falls was crowned NBA D-League Showcase Champions in Santa Cruz and its 16-3 record at the time marked the best start in league history. On Jan. 23, Craig guided Sioux Falls to a 99-93 win over the Canton Charge to snap Canton's seven-game winning streak.
Craig is in his first season as head coach for Sioux Falls, but has been a part of the Miami Heat organization for 13 seasons. Craig has been the head coach of Miami's NBA Summer League teams the past three years. Last season, he served as Assistant Coach/ Director of Player Development for the Heat.
Other coaches receiving consideration for the monthly award were Canton's Jordi Fernandez, Delaware's Kevin Young, Idaho's Dean Cooper, Raptors' Jesse Mermuys, Reno's David Arseneault Jr. and Texas' Nick Van Exel.
