Sing, Flores Tabbed Players Of The Week

DURHAM, NC - Pensacola Pelicans INF Brandon Sing and Fort Worth Cats LHP Pedro Flores were selected by PA-Sportsticker, the official statistician of the American Association, as the Teamline Direct Batter and Pitcher of the Week.
Sing in four games hit .455 (5-for-11) with two home runs and seven runs driven in. The Joliet, IL resident scored six runs with a 1.182 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .611. In Sunday's 5-2 win over the Lincoln Saltdogs, Sing went 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and two RBI along with hitting his second home run of the year.
The 27-year old was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 20th round of the 1999 MLB draft. He played eight seasons in the Cubs system from 1999-2006. In 2007, he was with the Baltimore Orioles organization.
Flores had a solid start in the 2-0 win over the Sioux Falls Canaries this past Friday night. He went seven innings allowing no runs on only two hits with three walks and five strikeouts. The resident of Baldwin Park, CA is right now in his 9th season of independent baseball. He has played in Camden, Lafayette, Edinburg and the last two seasons in Coastal Bend. Flores was a 18th round selection of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1996 MLB draft.
