Silverbacks head south to test expansion side
May 11, 2006 - USL First Division (USL-1)
Atlanta Silverbacks News Release
The Silverbacks Men, 0-1-2, will look for their first win this weekend when they face Miami FC on Sunday in Florida. Although Miami FC is the newest addition to the USL First Division, the franchise secured many soccer greats for their inaugural year, including Brazlian soccer stars Romario and Zhino.
"I think we've improved since the previous match; and each week we get a better understanding of each other. Obviously Miami has some very experienced players, but if we come out and play like we're capable of playing we should be able to come home with a positive result," said Head Coach Jason Smith.
Miami's current record, 0-2-1, lands them one point ahead of the Silverbacks in the USL First Division standings. The first ever game between the Silverbacks Men and Miami FC will kick-off on Sunday, May 14 at 4:00 pm.
