Silverados Hold First Tryout Camp
July 9, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Southeast Texas Mavericks News Release
The Rio Grande Valley Silverados will be putting on its first Tryout Camp on Saturday; August 18th here in Valley at Harlingen South High School in Harlingen, TX.
As was announced by co-owners Art Gonzalez and Kevin Mitchell when they introduced the franchise earlier this year tryouts would take place to give local players a chance to display their skills on the basketball court.
First year head coach Steve Tucker will be directing the camp and is excited about seeing local talent mixed in with players from all over the country participate in the Silverados first tryout camp.
"We're excited to be at the point now where we can look at players first hand! It'll be a great camp, and I encourage players to come out and show their stuff!"
The Silverados Coaching & Scouting Staff will be on hand for the camp, so players will receive first hand direction and observation.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
