This week's Games

Silver Stars vs. Connecticut Sun

August 30 - 7 p.m. CT - AT&T Center

The Silver Stars rematch with the Sun in the second half of a home-and-home series.

San Antonio defeated Connecticut, 72-59, at Mohegan Sun Arena on August 11 and has won the last meeting between the teams at the AT&T Center.

Playoff Picture

San Antonio enters the week in the playoff race with the Los Angeles Sparks. The Silver Stars currently rank fourth in the Western Conference with a 13-15 overall record while the Sparks are fifth at 12-17 overall. In order to secure a playoff spot, San Antonio's magic number is five, which can be any combination of Silver Stars wins and Sparks losses. San Antonio and Los Angeles will meet one final time this season, Sept. 6 at the Staples Center. Should San Antonio win at Los Angeles, they'll also have the advantage of the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Sparks this season.

Player Spotlight

Guard Tully Bevilaqua is averaging 6.3 points per game through the last three games when coming off the bench. Bevilaqua started the first 25 games of the season for the Silver Stars, averaging 1.7 points per game.

The veteran guard has played in all 28 games for the Silver Stars this season, averaging 2.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

Bevilaqua signed with the Silver Stars as a free agent in March 7, 2011. A six-time member of the WNBA All-Defensive team, Bevilaqua spent the previous six season with the Indiana Fever, helping the team to six- consecutive playoff appearance.

San Antonio and Phoenix meet for the fifth and final time during the regular season at the AT&T Center. Entering the game, the 2011 series is tied 2-2, with each team winning one at home and one on the road. The Mercury won the most recent meeting, 87-81, at the US Airways Center on August 20.

San Antonio and Seattle also meet for the fifth time this season, with the Storm holding a 3-1 advantage in 2011 meetings. Both teams have won all games played at their home arena this season, with Seattle most recently earning a 63-55 win at

KeyArena on August 23.

Silver Stars notes

HAMMON APPROACHING 5,000 POINTS: Entering the week, guard Becky Hammon is eight points shy of becoming the seventh player in WNBA history with 5,000 career points. Hammon currently has 4,992 career points through her 13 WNBA seasons.

YOUNG REACHES 3,000 POINTS: With her 14-point performance at Seattle on August 23, Sophia Young became the first player in franchise history to reach the 3,000-point plateau. The franchise's leading scorer, Young is the 37th player in league history to score 3,000 points and the third to do so from the 2005 draft class.
