Silver Stars Re-sign Edwige Lawson-Wade

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Silver Stars have re-signed Edwige Lawson-Wade, to a contract, Head Coach and General Manager Dan Hughes announced today. Per team policy, terms of the contract have not been released.

"We are so happy to have Edwige join us again in 2009," said Hughes. "She became an important piece of the Silver Stars last year and we look forward to her return to San Antonio."

Lawson-Wade played in 30 games for the Silver Stars last season, averaging 3.3 points per game. She shot .468 from three-point range, hitting 22 of 47 attempts. A native of France, Lawson-Wade has played four seasons in the WNBA with New York, Houston, Seattle and most recently, San Antonio.

Lawson-Wade also plays with CSKA Samara of the Russian Super League with Silver Star teammates Becky Hammon and Ann Wauters. She averaged 6.8 points and 1.7 assists per game in EuroLeague play this season.

The defending Western Conference Champion Silver Stars open the 2009 season on the road at Phoenix before coming home to host the New York Liberty Saturday, June 13 with Dads and Daughter's night in honor of Father's Day.
