Silver Stars Host Hoops & Hounds Night

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Silver Stars will host Hoops & Hounds Night on August 28 when they face off against the Minnesota Lynx at 2 p.m. in the AT&T Center. Tickets to the game for fans and their dog start at $20.

The first 2,500 fans will received a pet food scoop at the door, courtesy of HEB - one of the presenting sponsors of the 2011 Silver Star season. The first 600 fans with a dog who enter through the Bud Light Courtyard will also receive a waste bag dispenser, courtesy of Locke Hill Pet Feed & Lawn Supply and the Silver Stars.

Locke Hill Pet Feed & Lawn Supply is also sponsoring a canine costume contest through SASilverStars.com. Fans can vote for their favorite dog in costume now at SASilverStars.com. The three finalists will be unveiled at the game with the winner selected through in-game text message voting.

The Silver Stars will also be collecting bedding, leashes, collars and toys at all five entrances. Fans who donate an item will receive two ticket vouchers to an upcoming game. All items collected will be donated to the Alamo Area Partners for Animal Welfare (AAPAW). There will also be a dozen non-profit organizations on the Plaza Level with adoptable dogs.

Tickets for Hoops & Hounds and all Silver Stars home games are available at all San Antonio Ticketmaster locations, including by phone at (210) 225-TEAM, or online at ticketmaster.com or sasilverstars.com. Tickets can also be purchased at the AT&T Center Southeast Box Office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. or on weekend event days starting at 10 a.m. or by calling (210) 444-5090.
