San Antonio Stars News Release

LOS ANGELES - San Antonio Silver Stars guard Marie Ferdinand suffered a posterolateral dislocation of the right elbow in last night's Silver Stars' game at Los Angeles. The injury occurred at the 16:23 mark of the second half. Ferdinand was taken to Centinela Hospital where doctor's performed a closed reduction (the joint was put back in place). No additional surgery was performed at that time.

Ferdinand made the trip home to San Antonio with the rest of the Silver Stars team on Saturday and will be re-evaluated by Silver Stars' team doctors later this week. At this time there is no definite time table for her recovery. Ferdinand's return to play will be determined by her re-evaluation and how fast she responds to treatment.

For the season Ferdinand has appeared in 17 games and is currently the Silver Stars leading scorer averaging 11.7 points per game.

The Silver Stars are currently 5-12 and will return to action on July 9 when they host the Los Angles Sparks at 7:00 p.m. at the SBC Center. Fans can tune in and listen to all of the team's 2004 WNBA games on Clear Channel radio stations Ticket 760 AM and KSJL 810 AM with Andrew Monaco calling the action.
