Silver Dancers to Select Laredo Bucks Dance Team

(7/01/03) The Laredo Bucks are pleased to announce that a trio of former San Antonio Spurs' Silver Dancers will serve as judges for the Laredo Bucks Dance Team auditions to be held July 19 at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Team choreographer Tanya Sanders-Garza will be joined by Raquel Torres and Lucy Withers as judges chosen to select the 2003-2004 Laredo Bucks Dance Team.

Raquel Torres worked with the San Antonio Spurs as a Silver Dancer from 1995-2001. She is currently the choreographer for the WNBA Silver Stars SBC Star Squad. She was a Showmakers instructor for nine years and was once a Kilgore College Rangerette. She currently owns 5678 Dance Studio. Lucy Withers was a Spurs' Silver Dancer from 1992-1998. She was a national award-winning cheerleader at Judson High School and is now an educational consultant for Perfection Learning Corporation.

"With Lucy and Raquel joining Tanya, our judges have over 20 years of experience with the Silver Dancers," says Bucks Game/Promotions Director Mario Mecaroni. "These judges reflect the level of program we're striving to build."

Applications are still being accepted for the 2003-2004 Laredo Bucks Dance Team. Applications are available in the LEC administrative offices. The registration deadline is Monday, July 14. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma. Auditions begin at 8:00am sharp on Saturday, July 19.
