Mississippi Surge News Release
In the final road game of the regular season, the Mississippi Surge couldn't solve Huntsville Havoc goaltender Mark Sibbald and lost 3-0 Thursday night in Huntsville.
In spite of doubling up Huntsville in shots, the Surge failed to score. Mississippi managed at least 14 shots in each period and outshot Huntsville for the game, 46-23.
It was Huntsville's Stuart Stefan and Colin Reddin providing all the offense the Havoc would need in the first period. Stefan scored midway through the period and Reddin tallied with 2:17 left in the first period. Reddin put the Havoc in a comfortable mode with his second goal of the game at 2:45 of the third period.
The Surge concludes the regular season on Saturday night at home against Louisiana at 7:05 p.m. During that game, the Surge players will be wearing the gray jerseys they have worn on Friday nights this season. The jerseys will be auctioned after the game. All of the Surge players will meet and mingle with fans in the club area of coliseum after the game, during the auction.
The first home playoff game for the Surge will be Saturday March 31st against the Pensacola Ice Flyers at 7:05 p.m.
