Orlando Predators News Release

ORLANDO - August 28, 2015 - Orlando Predators offensive coordinator Siaha Burley has been named the Arena Football League Assistant Coach of the Year, the League office announced Thursday night.

Burley recently wrapped up his second season with the Predators. His offensive unit ranked No. 3 in the league in scoring offense and total offense in 2015, racking up 56.8 points and 295.5 yards per contest. Orlando also ranked No. 1 in the league in yards per offensive play, averaging 7.1 yards per snap. The Predators were also the top rushing team in the AFL at 38.9 yards per game.

Burley said he was very appreciative of the Predators' organization, but he knows an award like this wouldn't have come without the players he was coaching. And there were plenty of players in 2015. Burley worked with two starting quarterbacks, seven different wide receivers and six different offensive linemen throughout the course of the season.

"I'd like to thank the Predators organization starting with David Siegel and Jared Saft for taking ownership of the team and providing a great environment to work in," Burley said. "I thank Rob Keefe and Mike DiJulio for assembling a great group of players and presenting me the opportunity to work with them. I also thank line coach Steve Edwards for his efforts on offense as well. Football is a team game and any award received is a reflection of the team effort. Most of all, making this possible was a talented group of players who bought into our mindset and vision on offense."

Orlando head coach Rob Keefe, who brought Burley back to Orlando and the Predators, said his offensive coordinator's work ethic has a great deal to do with this award.

"We are extremely proud of Coach Burley," Keefe said. "As an organization, we strive to dedicate maximum effort to our craft. Coach Burley epitomizes that approach through his hard work, diligence, and dedication. I couldn't think of a more deserving coach to receive this honor."

Burley is a graduate of the University of Central Florida. While playing for the Knights, he was Daunte Culpepper's favorite target, leading UCF in receiving during each of his final two seasons in Black and Gold. Following graduation, Burley spent time with a number of NFL teams. He then began his Arena Football playing career with the Predators in 2001 and was named to the AFL All-Rookie Team.

Burley also saw playing time with the Los Angeles Avengers, the Arizona Rattlers and the Utah Blaze. He began his coaching career in 2013 with the Chicago Rush before joining the Predators staff in 2014.
